As Marshall so eloquently wrote, it would relegate the car to a higher social class, thus leading to more expensive, and usually more tasteful, modifications. You would not expect someone to purchase a $30-$40k TT Z and proceed to put a $250 Catfish body kit off of eBay on it; conversely, you would not expect someone to purchase a $7500 TT Z and proceed to spend $15k building the motor, upgrading the turbos, brakes, suspension, etc. Why do you think there's so many Supras out there with single turbos, large twins, built motors, etc.? It's because the people who can afford the Supras can also afford to build them up. On the other hand, you see very few built-up Zs...
